Meijburg & Co and Unseen are proud to announce the nominees for the second edition of the Meijburg Art Commission. This prestigious prize, initiated by tax advisory firm Meijburg & Co, is part of Unseen Photo Fair 2016, which takes place between 23-25 September in the Westergas area in Amsterdam. The Meijburg Art Commission aims to discover talented artists whose multimedia work focuses on photography. The commission supports emerging artists in their career and offers them the opportunity to excel in their chosen discipline.

All photographers exhibiting at Unseen Photo Fair 2016 have been invited to compete for the Meijburg Art Commission. The artists were asked to submit a proposal for a unique, site-specific work of art with photography as a central focus.

The five nominees for the Meijburg Art Commission 2016 are: Awoiska van der Molen (1972, NL); Elspeth Diederix (1971, NL); Mandy Barker (1964, UK); Motohiro Takeda (1982, JP); and Yoko Ikeda (1965, JP).

An international jury consisting of Wilbert Kannekens (Chairman Managing Board, Meijburg & Co), Genevieve Fussel (Senior Photo Editor, The New Yorker) and Unseen’s 2016 campaign artists Christto & Andrew, will choose the winning artist. During an exclusive client event on 23 September at Unseen Photo Fair, the winner of the Meijburg Art Commission 2016 will be announced.
