Martin Lidell grew up in a film and theatrical family, so it felt natural for him to choose a creative career for himself.

He worked for some years in the film industry before deciding to go a step further and become a still photographer. He moved to Paris, then London and finally New York where he remained for many years.

Martin shot mainly documentary photography at the start of his career, holding several exhibitions before coming to focus on fashion photography, which is now his main field.

For the last two years Sweden has been his base again, though he still accepts many commissions abroad. Particularly in the USA and France, for clients such as L`Officiel, BCBG Max Azria and The Last Magazine.

Martin describes himself as a driven, stubborn, careful and cheerful person who gains inspiration from design, fashion, books, people, music and art.
