Linnea Apelqvist was born in Västerås in Sweden, but grew up in London where she is still based. ''I guess I've become very English over the years - I believe that a cup of tea is always the answer to any problem!'' she says. After training in photography, art history and set design Linnea began working in the film industry. Projects she has worked on include the Hollywood production ''Shanghai'' with John Cusack in the leading role. Which in turn led to collaborations with renowned British set designers such as Simon Costin and Sarah May. ''They focus on prop styling and set design for photo shoots, fashion shows, exhibitions and events. It really feels like I've found my niche with them.'' Linnea's inspiration comes from artists like Jockum Nordström, Guy Bourdin and Magritte. But also in clothes designers such as Alexander McQueen and Victor and Rolf, and in Woody Allen's early films. ''Set design covers such a wide sphere, you can work in many different fields. It never gets boring at work and no two days are alike''.
