Moritz Nicolaus Schmid was born in 1980.
He grew up in northern Germany and in California.
After school he decided to buy a camera and travel around the globe, ending up in southern america and asia. He deeply got inspired by those different cultures and started to search for interesting characters to be staged in surreal but natural surroundings.
Moritz is a master in showing the extravagance and the little unique specifics in the average person.
After his travels he started to work as a photoassistant for photographers such as Joachim Baldauf, Martin Bauendahl, Uwe Duettmann, Robert Grischek, Christian Kerber, Torsten Klinkow, Armin Morbach and others.
He began early to create a personal style and portfolio and works as a photographer since 2002.
2006 he won the Epica Award for a Nivea for Men advertising shoot with draftFCB.
