UPDATE 13 was of course accompanied by a GoSee publication. The distribution range of print is of course still constantly being questioned – but hey, sometimes you just need to cease new opportunities and show some initiative. The pure artwork-advertising battle of self marketing, particularly popular in the industry in the ‘80s seems to have finally been won and even today, many years on from 2000, it still seems to prove quite the challenge for writing resistant editorial boards. Days never seem quite as intense and long as they did during childhood. If in summer or winter, time was spent with games and discoveries, visiting grandparents, showering at public swimming pools, bathing in the open sea,… Thekla Ehling documents these typical children’s activities in her photo project titled “Sommerherz” (Summer Heart). The Cologne-based mother of two has been accompanying her daughters and their friends with a camera for the past ten years. Her pictur …03.06.2009 // ADD article TO MY GOSEE // 10 items in this article // SHOW article
The tenth issue of BOOKLET saw a whole glittering sky of stars and starlets pose for the camera. Such as French actress Audrey Dana. The Prix Romy Schneider award winner presented her “Welcome” film at the Berlinale. She is currently on a 70s themed film set with Emmanuelle Béart. Alexandra Kinga Fekete had the pleasure of photographing her at the Kennedy Museum in Berlin. Things were slightly more rocky, but just as seductive, in a shoot with Brooklyn Decker c/o Marilyn M …02.06.2009 // ADD article TO MY GOSEE // 4 items in this article // SHOW article
BOOKLET welcomed special guest Philip-Lorca diCorcia to the tenth issue. The New York-based photographer was interviewed by Nadine Barth. Here is a teaser… He is the star of staged street photography. A cinematographer of emotions. Someone who tends to invite coincidence to a preconceived game. Just to let the viewer walk out as the winner. His story is partly shaped by the fact that many photo adepts are still unable to pronounce his name correctly (dis-core-shka), and reckon he is pa …02.06.2009 // ADD article TO MY GOSEE // 3 items in this article // SHOW article
20 photographers produced pieces for the latest issue of BOOKLET. The DELICATE YOUTH photo series presents pieces by London-based Norwegian photographer Elisabeth Hoff, which depict very young locals and their first bling experiences. Welcome! – our shoot with actor, entertainer, art director, comedian and last but not least, photographer Manuel Cortez, started early in the evening at burlesque group the Teaserettes’s general rehearsal at Roadrunner’s Club in Berlin. We felt so at home with the proprietor and burlesque group, that by the time we got to our next location, we were behind schedule. The second club we visited that night was also set up by Fred Mullen, it is called Bassy and the similarities a …02.06.2009 // ADD article TO MY GOSEE // 4 items in this article // SHOW article
The new and 10th issue of BOOKLET magazine is out now. The HELLS ANGELS concept was meant literally. It was aimed at focusing on people who stay true to themselves, despite difficult circumstances or living conditions, serving as role models by doing so. The biggest surprise in regards to all productions and conversations prior to the 10th issue, was the extent as to which the term HELLS ANGELS was associated with the homonymous group. Creative people from New York, to club owners in Berli …02.06.2009 // ADD article TO MY GOSEE // 4 items in this article // SHOW article
