The Invention of the Real - an exhibition by the Berlin School of Photography Forum

Director Walter Ruttmann explored the ‘Symphony of a City’ (original title ‘Symphonie einer Großstadt’) in 1927. Berlin provided him with the ideal setting for his rhythmic montages and the inspiration for his documentary film.

Today visual creatives still experiment with seeing and capture the results in collages.

Wolfgang Zurborn christened his course ‘The Invention of the Real’ at Neuen Schule für Fotografie, Berlin.

Photographers on show include: Marina d’Oro, Oliver Gerhartz, Beate Hoerkens, Christian Kosfeld, Xavier Ribes, Dieter Seitz, Ruth Stoltenberg, Lena Treugut and Martina Zschocke.

The results of the seminar can still be viewed until 12 June.
