Gallery Stock : SAMUEL HICKS on the way exhibition in Brighton, still-life newcomer LAURA LETINSKY
The Crane Kalman, Gallery for Contemporary Art in Brighton is pleased to present "On the Way", the first solo exhibition by Samuel Hicks, whose stock archive is represented by GALLERY STOCK. The series was shot whilst he was on various assignments in North America and captures the varied characters he met along the way.
His work is characterised by a fascination with light, and how it can transform a scene, by changing colours and moods. Often he will combine artificial lighting with natural light to lend a filmic quality. He photographs people in their true environment. He aims to connect to the individual, the link between subject and viewer, encouraging the dialogue
between the two.
GoSee presents a selection of his work, more can be viewed with Gallery Stock.
