Shotview : exhibitions with Erwin Wurm, Joachim Baldauf, Luis Sanchis & Peter Rigaud's Portrait book

SHOTVIEW have once again gone to show that there need not be any contradiction between commercial photography and challenging pieces of art. Indeed, the marriage of these two concepts can result in the most exciting and creative imagery. This founding thought has been a vision for Kozva Rigaud  since the start, and the latest results we have attached certainly  prove it.

Erwin WURM, renowned as the artist that swallowed the world and made a fat, yet thoughtful house speak, is now collaborating with Véronique Nichanian, artistic director at HERMÈS. He was presented with the Hermès menswear A/W 08/09 collection to create his “one minute sculptures” and photographs. The results are exhibited at the Hermès Boutique, 24, Faubourg Saint-Honoré, Paris until October, 4. The show will then travel to London, Tokyo and Miami.

Joachim BALDAUF participated in the FASHION exhibition at the CAMERA WORK gallery (Kantstraße 149, Berlin), which closes November, 15 (GoSee reported). The group display provides an overview of the development of fashion photography in the 1920s, through to today.

TRAUMFRAUEN (Dream Women) is an exhibition which deals with the subject of beauty. It can be viewed until November 9, at the House of Photography, in Hamburg’s Deichtorhallen, (Deichtorstraße 1 – 2). 50 top photographers including Peter Lindbergh, Sheila Metzner, Bettina Rheims, Luis SANCHIS and Albert Watson were asked to provide their own personal statement on contemporary beauty, to accompany their photographs.

Peter RIGAUD’s book, PORTRAITS, was published on 22 September 2008. It presents his collection of interesting portraits of artists, actors, designers, philosophers and politicians, which he realized over the past ten years. The photographer told us that he feels the most important part of photographing portraits is diplomacy.
