A car shoot without a car, images from the earth’s perspective. This was the brief photographer CHRISTIAN SCHMIDT c/o GoSee Member CLAUDIA BITZER was given for the TOYOTA Auris Hybrid.
The results were so impressive that the latest issue of the magazine features the images in a 12-page spread titled ‘Perspective Change’.
Christian and a small team travelled to twelve locations – each unique – and captured the surroundings from an unusual perspective.
The images were realised according to an idea by Saatchi & Saatchi Düsseldorf. They present a previously unseen perspective with insight and details, inviting the viewer to amaze, boggle and linger.
The launch of the campaign is just as spectacular as the images themselves.
It is the first time that a complete issue of Stern magazine has been booked by one client – in this case Toyota.
And Christian’s photo series in the centre of the magazine forms the heart of the campaign – accompanied by a long interview with the photographer and a making-of. Read more and view the impressive results on www.auris-hybrid.de
Jean-Pierre Gregor was in charge of the art direction; text partner Till Koester and art buyer Bettina Tetens joined him.
GoSee member ADD PICTURES headed the production and the images were treated to their finishing touched by an additional GoSee member, the internationally based and renowned post producers at RECOM.
Stern magazine is published by Verlagshaus Gruner + Jahr, a Bertelsmann Media Group business. An average of 880,000 copies are printed and sold each week.
The magazine reaches around 7.5 million readers in Germany, aged over 14.
