Zeitgeist Cologne : online store open now and love bait ... new products and pheromone temptations for Valentine's Day

Just after its opening in September last year, the design shop has rapidly become a favourite meeting point for design lovers, visual people and fashionistas. Even the old established boutique belles of Cologne have been won over by Monsieur Brunaut’s reliable instinct for trends.

The webshop was launched a few days ago, enabling a quick and easy home delivery option for those that may not make it down to the store. Additional products pop up in the online store on a daily basis and the site’s design will also continuously be modified.

Here is an overview of the latest, most zeitgeisty products… the MOLECULE 01 and MOLECULE 02 by ESCENTRIC, pheromone-like perfumes are a new addition and an exciting Valentine’s Day gift idea.

Molecule 01 contains concentrated ISO E Super. The product promises that the subtle velvety woodnote leads an eccentric life of its own… Still, the effect of the perfume on other people is even better, as it provides its wearer with an enormous aura and has a pheromone-like effect.

Molecule 02 contains Ambroxan, one of the most expensive synthetic perfume ingredients and also one of the most delicious scents in perfumery. Ambroxan is responsible for the uniquely aromatic scent of the ambergris.

What may appear to be a luxury vibrator in a gift box, is in fact, upon close inspection, another perfume in luxury casing. JULIETTE HAS A GUN, launched successfully in December 2009, was created by Romano Ricci, Nina Ricci’s great grandson and perfumer, as well as Francis Kurkdjian, also a perfumer who creates the finest scents for Gaultier, Guerlain, Dior & Co.

The ladylike scent is based on rose essences, which are created through the distillation of freshly picked flowers. 5 tonnes of flowers are needed for the extraction of a litre of pure essence. The elegant set is made up of the ‘bullet’ stainless steel roll on and 4 x 4ml cartridges of the highly concentrated scent oil to reload with.

The limited edition K1X BASKETBALLS are also available now for a limited period only, with an edition of 444 worldwide. Four artists designed a ball to represent the four elements; earth, fire, wind and water.

Street artist Mode2 interpreted earth and illustrated a basketball player. Bill Mc Mullen, Art Director of the Def Jam music label, symbolised fire, using orange shades. His source of inspiration was the fire at the Olympic Games in 1984, LA.

Thomas Marecki aka Marok chose water – he painted one side of the ball blue and decorated the other in a brightly coloured tile design. Frank 151 and Stay High opted for air and designed an almost white basketball.

The TRACKS HEADPHONES by designer AIAIAI come from Denmark and are inspired by good old walkmans. The headphones with integrated microphone cater for a wide range of sounds, from the deepest bass to the highest frequencies. The wearable headphones come in a great box, just like your favourite pair of colourful sneakers.
