Branchage International Film Festival - the film event highlight on a wonderfully bizarre island

The Branchage International Film Festival does not share many sentiments with other festivals. Taking place on Jersey island, way down south from the southern coast of England for the third time, a dream of many a film and festival fan comes to life: Three days jam-packed with films, live music, parties and all at the most bizarre locations. It seems to be a tiny patch of untamed, visual joy, a wondrous island bastion beyond the red carpet.

At Mont Orgueil Castle, an old stronghold stemming from the 13th century, in the Jersey war tunnels, in many churches, at the great Jersey opera House and in the Barclays' Mirror tent, the festival's central crossroad junction, are all host to numerous events.

Stephen Frear's new comedy ‘Tamara Drewe’ starring Gemma Arterton and Dominic Cooper will fire the starting shot; the festival will conclude with a nocturnal gala and the documentary ‘Out of the Ashes’, which documents the Afghan cricket team's rise to fame.

The comprehensive programme is made up of features, documentaries, animation and short films. We have attached some goodies. Actually, just about all of it is exciting!
