Christoph Siegert : African Skies - aerial sceneries from Kenya and Tanzania, exhibition in Hamburg

Christoph Siegert presents his ‘African Skies - Aerial sceneries from Kenya and Tanzania’ series at the Lebenshilfe space in Hamburg. The private view is on the 14th of April from 6pm to 8pm.

The exhibition features Eastern African Sky formations, photographed from various places and perspectives. The dramatic sky figuratively reflects the extreme contradictions so prevalent on the continent.

It symbolises the beauty and the wildness of Africa at the same time, togetherness unknown to us Europeans, that is, we have ceased to notice it.

With their meticulous GPS position and additional titbits of detail, the motifs show up particular highlights in Kenya and Tanzania respectively, such as the Kilimanjaro, the farming gardens of Tanja Blixen, the Massai Mara National Park and the Great Rift Valley.

The exhibition is accompanied by an iTunes App featuring all motifs, information and the GPS position on Google Earth.
