The nofound_photofair contemporary photography fair will take place during Photography Week from the 11th to the 14th of November 2011 in Paris.
Located in the heart of the Parisian artisan quarter Marais and very close to the George Pompidou Centre and the European House of Photography, the nofound_photofair features 38 exhibitors on 1,600 square meters.
The main focus of the nofound_photofair is the combination of photography, contemporary art and the 'scene'. Contemporary galleries present artists, who work with the medium of photography in general – hence, not only photographers are part of the show, but also fine artists, performers and sculptors.
GoSee was keen to find out more and quizzed co-initiator EmEric Glayse: "nofound_photofair is a contemporary art fair dedicated to photography. Next to the photographic galleries and publishers, we will welcome lots of contemporary art galleries which work with photography. We want to show works of artists - sculptors, performers, etc. - who think the photography in their own practices and not just photographers' ones.
For example, I am very happy to welcome Eleonora Aguiari (introduced by Galerie Alberta Pane, Paris), who will create an in-situ installation that will come out of her photographs, or Jon Rafman (introduced by Jean Boite Éditions, Paris) who questions our reality via Google Map.
The other very important point is that nofound_photofair is a projects fair. Exhibitors are selected on projects : solo-shows, group-shows, installations, etc. Our goal is that the visitors discover 43 exhibitions in the same place and not just visit a "photo-super-market". I am very happy that people will be able to discover, for example, a totally exclusive solo-show of Ari Marcopoulos (introduced by Galerie Frank Elbaz, Paris)."
