Luke, I am your Daddy... art object! The Vader Project presents 100 helmets and one auction

When George Lucas created Star Wars and Darth Vader, he launched a cult. And because there is always a bit of art in any cult, even a movie villain can be transmogrified into a jolly exhibition piece. The Vader project won over the most creative heads for their venture and set about making a concept reality.

After almost four years of touring the world, the 100 hundred helmets are returning to the United States and eagerly awaited by excited collectors ready to snatch them up.

From 12 to 20 June, the exhibition will be on show in Hollywood, for a last time before the auction. Artists such as Gary Baseman, Shag, Niagara and Tokidoki present their interpretations of the head of the ‘dark side of the force’.

Needless to say, there will be private view party: On Friday, 11 June featuring Djs Crystal Pharaoh and The Suckolrd from Band of the Lost.

An exclusive and limited edition catalogue will be published, featuring the objects and their artists on 200 pages. On 12 June, 20 artists will be present from 2pm to sign the publication.

For the grand finale, all arrows point to the Freeman's Auctioneers and Appraisers in Philadelphia, where the exhibits will be both displayed and auctioned off online on 10 July, bids start at 1500 $.

Curators Dov Kelemer and Sarah Jo Marks of DKE Toys are very happy that, in collaboration with Freeman's, the art objects were shown to a wide public.

May the force be with you !
