Planche(s) Contact 2011 - spreads photo fever in beautiful seaside town Deauville

The new 'Festival de photographie de Deauville' will take place for the second time from the 29th of October to the 27th of November on the coast of Northern France.

Founded in 1860, the seaside town outside Paris seeks to promote the following ideas and concepts:

− To capture unique Deauville on camera

− to support young talents with artist in residence schemes and a curated photography award

− to share photography with the public through exhibitions and events

− to establish a photography collection

In 2011, the invited guests are DAVID AMSTRONG, YVES MARCHAND and ROMAIN MEFFRE, MASSIMO VITALI, LARS TUNBJÖRK and NAMSA LEUBA.

Six artists-in-Residences will be awarded to students from L'ECAL (Lausanne) and the Royal College of Art (London).

Artistic director Patrick Remy, who heads the Steidl publishing house in France, is in charge of the festival.
