Rave is over - the deserted spaces after the legendary parties vs. portraits of ravers
The Gestalten Space presents two series by Martin Eberle. One is all about deserted clubs, abandoned locations with that peculiar, provisional aura of Berlin. Photographs that were taken after rave parties in the 1990s, which reached legendary status worldwide. Clubs such as the Eimer, Dirt, WMF, or Tresor – Martin captured them all.
The second series contrasts these underground and off beat locations with portraits of nightlife scenesters, such as Peaches. People, whose vision of culture helped in communicating the image of a city and who are responsible for putting Berlin on the map of coolness. The photographs were taken post-concert, no matter where and what, as long as its raw and radical.
Found on the net: "At the moment, you have the rare opportunity to own a signed copy of Martin Eberle's Temporary Spaces book (featuring art from the current exhibition) for the special price of € 30 (as opposed to € 40). We only have a few copies left, so get thee down to Gestalten Space pronto—and check out Martin's Rave Is Over exhibit while you're there!"
