RECOM ART : presentation at the UPdate and latest prints and large slides for the 'Meuterei im Atomkraftwerk' (Mutiny at the Nuclear Power Plant) exhibition

The Art Print Portal will introduce itself at the UPdate in Frankfurt. RECOM ART recently produced the majority of prints and large slides for the ‘Mutiny at the Nuclear Power Plant’ exhibition to commemorate the 24th anniversary of the Tschernobyl catastrophe at Cafe Endlager.

The exhibition opened last Sunday, 24 April 2010 in Stuttgart and will be open until 9 May, accompanied by an interesting programme of events. We have attached a few impressions of the opening day.

A converted former commercial property in Stuttgart sees photographs, installations and films reflect the ‘70s and ‘80s resistance movement and catastrophes such as Tschernobyl in ‘50s style euphoria and propaganda.

The accompanying programme gives nuclear power plant supporters and opponents an opportunity to argue their cases. Artists comment on this in literary, film and musical contributions. A newspaper format catalogue documents the subjects with articles, interviews and photo series.

Café Endlager is the second event in the ‘Denkanstösse’ (brainstorm) project series, which is sponsored by nuclear power free energy provider Entega. Events are developed together with Artistic Director and Berliner film maker and artist Ralf Schmerberg, aiming to create an improved awareness of socio-related topics which are cause for debate.
