Sneak Peek in New York! Anna Hrachovec's 'Greetings from Mochimochi' knits its way into our hearts
Grab those needles! In her first solo exhibition ‘Greetings from Mochimochi’, Anna Hrachovec presents unicorns bouncing on rainbows and other wondrous pieces of knit work and proves that there is still a future for the art of traditional knitting.
Her one-of-a-kind toys have already been exhibited in Seattle, New York, San Francisco and Tokyo. Japanese Kawaii-designs and illustrators such as Dr. Seuss inspire Brooklyn-based Anna.
In 2007, she first began presenting her impressively cute monsters, fruits, animals and even slippers. From 7 to 29 October, Anna's working cuddly train leads us through a wacky and soft landscape of a thousand wool yarns, over a million stitches, passing woolly cows, across rat-infested skyscrapers and finally directly to god with Elvis haircut.
