The Photographers Gallery, London : freshfacedandwildeyed09 - new talent from the UK

The Photographers Gallery in London presents their annual freshfacedandwildeyed 09 exhibition. In its second consecutive year, it will once again showcase talented graduate work by UK photography BA and MA students who have graduated in the past year.

To be selected for the exhibition, graduates were required to provide proof of enrolment, graduation and eight photos from their portfolios, as well as an accompanying written piece comprising  over100 words. The entries were selected by a panel of photography experts, including Joy Gregory, photographer; Magda Keany, Assistant Curator Photographs, National Portrait Gallery; Brett Rogers, Director, The Photographers’ Gallery; Ossian Ward, Visual Arts Editor, Time Out London.

The 23 selected photographers will now be presented at the London-based gallery from 24 June onwards until 5 July, when they will then be showcased on the gallery’s website : www.photonet.org.uk. We have attached some first impressions.

The freshfacedandwildeyed exhibition marks the gallery’s second existing project to support young and talented photographers, with The Photographers’ Gallery Graduate Award (1998 – ongoing) being the first.
