Watching Humans Watching - Inka Lindergård and Niclas Holmströmbei on show at Swedish Photography in Berlin

Human experiences oscillate in between reality and the alluring, yet deceiving. So called 'thinking' competes with a more or less distorted perception of the world around us, play with each other and inevitably blend with each other sooner or later. The result is a remembered reality, infused with imagination, some glorious, sad, absurd but always unique moments.

A surprise of great beauty, an impressive, fear-inducing moment – or an enlightened exchange between humankind and nature. Behavioural patterns and the aesthetics of travel by Lindergård and Holmström represent these dualist relationships.

People subconsciously adapt to their new environment, by wearing the same colours. During work, people wander solemnly, for themselves with frozen facial expressions, reflecting the thought of something nice that might come up in the future or something that makes us curious.

Through this behavioural pattern, integrated in wide landscapes and gleaming colours, the people become just another pretty detail in the big picture.

Inka Lindergård was born 1985 in Finland and Niclas Holmström was born 1984 in Sweden. They live and work together in Stockholm, Sweden, since 2007.
