Pierrot lost in future? GoSee thinks designer Natacha Talay is lost in fashion. On purpose.

Somehow Japanese? Berlin style? London? Wrong, wrong, wrong again. Natacha Talay is half Italian, half Turkish; a unique combination just as original as her fashion. 'Pierrot lost in future' is the title of her S/S 2011 collection. What does that look like, you ask? Well, the answer is pretty fabulous !

The Milan-born designer presents her second collection - inspired by the underground, art and the urban environment. The collection plays with the melancholic side of Pierrot, with black & white shapes and tailoring, as well as a minimalist elegance.

The reference to the future of fashion is naturally inevitable. The timeless figure of Pierrot was created way back in 1816 in Paris and was long due for a makeover, says Natacha.

Yet her designs are far from being spontaneous expressions or random arbitrariness – on the contrary: the thought out pieces won us over through their subtle complexity.

Natacha Talay completed her fashion degree at the Milan European Institute of Design in 2008. And she didn’t have to think twice about founding her own label. When it comes to describing her own philosophy, she prefers to refer to it as free spirited and born from a respect for life as she uses neither leather nor fur.

The current A/W collection has turned out much darker, but just as promising as the first. Go see!
