Pool : pool_life&culture's fifth birthday !

In contrast to the fast moving pace of the media market, the Pool team are holding onto their values: a passion for aesthetics, healthy growth, open mindedness, an awareness of international affairs … growing together with partners! An example of this is there international orientated no Kiosk – Special Places distribution technique, which sees pool magazine being sent out for free to selected fashion shops, concept stores, art galleries, design hotels etc.

From the very start, the principle has been to stand out without being too pushy. In the meantime, 20 issues have already followed this philosophy. The pool network keeps on expanding on an international scale, each issue draws more partners into the *pool*. Cooperations with fashion and creative platforms such as bread&butter Barcelona, CPH Vision Copenhagen, film festivals such as the Viennale Vienna, etc. strengthen their international presence, as well as tighten their connections to decision makers in fashion/design/creative markets and their readers all over the world.

pool_20 was published on 11 October and is dedicated to the colour RED. Red- the colour of love, passion, lust … the celebratory part of pool_20 is the *Jubilee section* which presents 11 pages of opinions, voices and congratulations to the last five and future years of pool. It also presents European distributors and points of sale. The content of the magazine is made up with several red associated features and interviews: for example a chat with Campari-CEO Bob Kunze-Concewitz, an interview with Heinz-Tomato-Ketchup General-Manager Jens Plachetka and also with Florian Westphal, the spokesperson of the International Red Cross charity (ikrk).

The fashion editorials in the magazine were realized by Vienna-based photographers Alexandra Hager and Christof Wagner. Image editorial 4x5 appearance features fashion pieces, accessories and beauty items, where as 4x5 impression presents design products.
