Q.E.D : The cloud room - Spring/Summer 09 Collection

We have attached the look book of German fashion label Q.E.D.’s  (quod erat demonstrandum) latest collection, which premiered positively at the On/Off Presents Shows at London Fashion Week. GoSee are happy to explain just why the Spring/Summer 09 collection is titled “The cloud room”.

The Cloud Room is the place where one can escape from Zeitgeist’s juxtapositions of panic and calm, aggression and apathy, a longing for freedom and the fear of losing oneself in a storm of thought.

This thought is reflected by Q.E.D. in a monochrome collection with unusual seams, sleeves and pockets, and discreet asymmetry. This experimentation with surfaces, the relationship between inner and outer worlds is reflected in materials with a paper-like look and feel, wrapping up skin, which also simultaneously acts as a symbol of protection.

Q.E.D. was established in Berlin a little less than three years ago by Julia Böge, Simona Gabrieli and Jasmin Moallim. The three entrepreneurs met during their studies and soon realised that the fact they all like the colour black best wasn’t the only thing they had in common.

Their "Jerry Lewis vs. Gari Kasparov" collection made its debut at the Beck´s Fashion Experience in January 2007, it was the only menswear collection to be presented with the selected newcomer designers.

Exactly one year later they were presented with the Karstadt New Generation Award during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Berlin. The biannual young designer competition premieres the most creative and innovative design labels in Berlin.

Last year the Dumont Verlag published “Berlin Fashion- Fashion Metropolis“ - portraits of the 40 most important fashion label sin Berlin, including Q.E.D.

Their short film “The story of a mistake“ was presented with the best film award at the “World Fashion Film Festival“ 2008 in Berlin, under the categories of “menswear” and “music”.

The Q.E.D. collections are produced in Germany and are sold in selected stores in Germany, France, Greece, Holland and Romania.
