Bottega Venete added Alex Prager to its range of exceptional talents and star photographers, who produced the fashion label's campaigns. The photographer shot the spring/summer 2011 ready to wear collection, menswear and women's fashion and made sure that her cinematic style, which we love, influenced the results. GoSee already featured her in January and October last year.
This year's colour range of the label is neutral and cool, the silhouettes are accented with sharp tailoring. The collection absorbs soft materials, technically advanced, always focussing on an easy and comfy to wear approach.
Following in the footsteps of such greats as Nan Goldin, Steven Meisel and Anniel Leibovitz, Alex Prager continues the long tradition. Bottega Veneta's creative director Tomas Maier chose her quite deliberately: “I thought that the juxtaposition of Alex’s intense colours and surreal imagery with the cool palette and real-world focus of the collection would be interesting”.
Self-taught photographer Alex was born in 1979, Los Angeles. Her style reminds us of films by Alfred Hitchcock or David Lynch, her eye is playful, thoughtful, equally provocative and non-sentimental. Her works are exhibited in renowned museums in New York, London, LA and Toyko.
The Bottega Veneta Spring/Summer collection 2011 will be published for the first time in a few exclusive magazines in February.
