The Direction Lounge presented Hanna Schweier (Twinfilm), who is currently celebrating her cinema debut with ‘Cindy Liebt Mich Nicht’ (Cindy doesn’t love me). The love story centred on actors Clemens Schick, Anne Schäfer and Peter Weiss is her first feature length film, in association with ZDF TV, which premiered at the Berlinale 2010 (Perspektive Deutsches Kino).

What to expect? Two 30-something men as different as chalk and cheese: Franz, Barkeeper in ‘Cindy liebt mich nicht’, and David, trainee lawyer at the Department of Public Prosecution, both simultaneously get involved in a love story with the young Miss Maria, unaware of the love triangle situation. When she disappears with a guy, the two men meet. Together they set out to find Maria.

‘Cindy liebt mich nicht’ is Juan Moreno and Jochen-Martin Gutsch’s first shared novel, a new edition of which will be published in time for the cinema start date of 10 June 2010 by the Kiepenheuer & Witsch publishing house.

“’Cindy doesn’t love me’ lovingly holds up a mirror to a generation that reveals intimate details of its lives on social networking sites such as Facebook and humours this in an ironic way. After all, we don’t reveal our true personalities on these sites, but rather present stylised designs of our own identity,” says Hanna Schweier on her film.

‘Cindy Liebt Mich Nicht’ will be screened from 10 June at the Bambi in Düsseldorf and from 17 June at the Filmhauskino in Cologne. Hannah Schweier (director + scriptwriter) and Anne Schäfer (leading actress) will introduce the film in person on 13 June 2010 at City Kino – Munich.

Hannah Schweier, born in Munich, 1980, studied Philosophy, Psychology and Theatre Studies at Ludwig-Maximilian University, Munich. Since 2003, she has studied Film Direction at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy.

Her third year film ‘Aufrecht stehen’ (standing up straight) opened the 2007 Perspektive Deutsches Kino at the Berlinale. In 2008, she won the Scholz & Friends Scholarship for Creative Excellence. GoSee also presents the trailer.
