DBC - Driven by creatives : Karl Lagerfeld sees better things and Mick Jagger still looks damn good, the Klitschkos get re-vitali-sed, NISSAN is very sporty - and NINTENDO is an absolute must see!

‘I don’t watch TV. I see better things’ – only Karl Lagerfeld would be able to genuinely make such a statement. The spot with the new old advertising icon promotes SKY.

‘You know what, I have two eyes under my glasses’, says Karl. Someone else made sure he looked his very best - DOP Serge Roman c/o DBC.

Karl features in a total of three spots, all set in the fashion designer’s work environment. The VCCP, Berlin agency realised the advertising series. The media agency was OMD.

The second spot features a celebrity of equally high status – it presents the Mick Jagger rehearsal by DOP Rainer LIPSKI. The 10 time Grammy award winner reinterprets ‘Everybody needs someone to love ....’. He was supported by Raphael Sadiq, another proud Grammy award winner, the whole clip is a tribute to Solomon Burke, the ‘King of Rock, Soul & Blues’ who passed away in 2010, aged 70.

Solomon died of a heart attack shortly after his plane from Los Angeles landed at Amsterdam airport. He left 21 children and 90 grandchildren behind. Respect.

The new WARSTEINER spot is now online. The Klitschko brothers, aka the world’s toughest team are the stars of the advert. The advert promotes alcohol-free beer, the fighting duo need to watch their waistlines after all.

Especially Vitali Klitschko, who has already claimed he will knock out Odlanier Solis in the Lanxess Arena, Cologne on the 19th of March. Andreas HOFFMANN directed the spot.

The SUV Nissan X-Trail spot was created as a DBC-Teamwork collaboration with direction team ALEX & STEFFEN, as well as DOP Maher MALEH. SUV is short for ‘sport utility vehicle’ and the brief was to capture this often forgotten original term. ‘Shift the way you move’ is the spot’s slogan.

NINTENDO METROID is last, but not least. Non-gamers amongst GoSee readers: Metroid is a legendary video game series by Nintendo. The Metroid success story began in 1986 and has turned out to be one of Nintendo’s largest franchises. Sounds good to us, we love the trailer by DOP Fredrik BÄCKAR.
