the Y-3 S/S 2012 campaign - cleverly intellectual and somewhere in Brazil

Is it art? Is it fashion? Whatever it is, it is three minutes long. Nice pictures, interesting accent. It is probably Japanese, due to Y-3? But we could also make out something Brazilian? Funny if you think about what some people can squeeze into just three minutes...
In front of the camera, Valerija Kelava and Harry Goodwins introduce us to the spring/summer 2012 campaign in the Y-3 mood film. Collier Schorr, inspired by Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, realised the clip.
“I was inspired by the androgyny of Yohji Yamanoto’s designs to translate the clothing’s dualities onto screen and image. I was playing with a multitude of influences for the S/S 2012 campaign, inspired by the modernist literature and architecture that is in itself a fusion of political and architectural mantras, both dreamy and concrete.” says Collier Schorr.
And what about the fashion? Well, what about it? Good thing there are still campaign motifs – we sure have enough white T-Shirts.
