REGIELOUNGE / DIRECTOR'S LOUNGE

Director's Lounge by BBDO : exclusive preview on GoSee with Pixomondo - and live at Düsseldorf's Nachtresidenz on 22 September plus live stream on the internet

If this year’s registration for the Regielounge turns out to be as good an accurate indicator of attendance as it has in the past, then the next Regielounge on 22 September will confirm its consistent growth. Around 500 guests have already confirmed their attendance.

It comes as no great surprise, where else can you experience hot new directors from all over the world live and in person, whilst you watch their work on a large silver screen? And on a tri-annual basis for free?!

The fact that the Lounge has become an important date for the creative industry is reflected in a change of layout for the upcoming date. A bar will be opened next to the cinema so that the audience can give their full attention to the directors presentations when they are sitting in the screening space. The live show will be screened (in mute) on monitors in the bar so that the networking that is part of this event is likewise undisturbed.

Steffen Gentis told us: “This Lounge will also be streamed. We are going to try, we can only promise it afterwards…” The stream link will be announced on the Regielounge Facebook Page on 22 September and here on GoSee.

Johannesburg is the hot spot for film and commercials. An estimated 90% of German productions was produced in Cape Town. Steffen Gentis presents a guest from South Africa, who will present what Johannesburg has to offer at the Regie Lounge and will be giving away a weekend flight to Johannesburg.

And now for the big question, which directors will be presenting their artwork on 22 September? The negotiations are still being held… will we see Felipe Ascacibar (Element e), MK12 - The Ebeling Group, Saam, Kai Sehr from Who's McQueen, Hein Mevissen or Job van As ... or will Luzian Schlatter from Markenfilm present his skills?

One thing’s for sure, Pixomondo is supporting this Regielounge. The visual effects specialist company, with offices in Berlin, Los Angeles and Shanghai has worked on films including 2012, Ninja Assassin, Super 8, The Invention of Hugo Cabret and Red Tails.

Pixomondo created the entire VFX shots for ‘The Red Baron’ feature film, as well as for the RTL Hindenburg event movie. However, visual effects are also used in advertising film, for clients including Porsche, Volkswagen and Bertelsmann AG.
