Embassy of Dreams : Goldener Bär Award for HONEY the film, double Bronze and one Gold at the Spotlight Festival for the BMW spot and new entry Daniel STEINMETZ for AUDI Q7

Embassy of Dreams CEOs Stefan Telegdy and Helmut Hartl together with their partners Heimatfilm, headed by feature film producer Bettina Brokemper, received the Goldenen Bären Award at the Berlinale for their feature film BAL (Turkish: honey).

Die Zeit magazine described the film as ‘simply too beautiful and touching to be real’. The producers themselves express the juxtaposition of successful advertising and offbeat arthouse films as incredibly refreshing. GoSee presents a clip.

The film follows Egg and Milk as the third and final part of the ‘Yusuf Trilogy’ and celebrated its premiere on 16 February 2010, competing in the 60th Berlinale. After Susuz Yaz in 1964, Honey is the second Turkish film to be awarded Gold in Berlin.

Last Friday the advertising skies opened with a downpour of awards on the BMW ‘Flash’ cinema spot. The highly emotional advert, which was realised with the latest in technology, was conceptualised by Serviceplan/Erste Advertising Agency. It was presented with two Bronzes in the No Limits category, voted by the public and the specialist panel of the 13th Spotlight International Advertising Film Festival, as well as one Gold (‘vision’ special award)! Daniel STEINMETZ created his first film at the age of six. He quickly became a postproduction operator for music videos, movie PA in Hollywood, focus puller, 1st AD, cutter and writer.
