Designer: Jimmy Choo
Terry Richardson photographed the JIMMY CHOO Autumn/Winter campaign – without any nudity. Save for the skin-baring strappy shoes of course.
Could this be blamed on the weather conditions of Central Europe? Rain, clouds, wind … not too inviting this summer. It is nice to seek comfort in the good old days of late 1960s glam and reliable weather…
No wonder Terry Richardson centred the campaign on a luxury classic car. At least that’s what we have concluded.
Jimmy Choo Creative Directors Sandra Choi and Simon Holloway comment on the campaign: ‘we wanted to capture the innocent and glamorous spirit of the late 1960s, all the fun of dynamic rock ‘n’ roll style to make you feel really cool’.
They continue: ‘with a view of the back of an antique Rolls Royce Phantom V the campaign unfolds a brief glimpse into the life of a fictional rock ‘n’ roll couple. Models Querelle Jansen and Jonas Kessler play with the camera and embody the dichotomy of celebrity and photography.’
Whatever, as we all know, contrasts always look good – maybe not always as photogenic as they do here – but good all the same.
