Life is calling - the GoSee Direction Grand Prix goes to director Hanna Maria Heidrich

Even if no Grand Prix was presented at the YDA (Young Directors Award) in 2012 – then we would like to take the honours.Hanna Maria Heidrich’s ‘Life is Calling’ is truly cinematic and rightly won first prize in the category ‘Filmschool Europe’.

The commercial clip for Levi’s is also her final major project at the FA Ludwigsburg in Direction and was shot in two days in April 2011 in Stuttgart – we repeat: Stuttgart! We guess she passed.

Hanna developed all scripts together with partner in crime Alex Eslam, also a director, now signed to London production company Gorgeous, which also has contracts with directors Chris Palmer, Frank Budgen and Peter Thwaites.

Hanna on her spot: ‘my latest film Life is Calling came out of a desire to create a lighthearted film, that simply makes you smile. I thrive on creating and exploring diverse moods and tones in stories. I love films that explore all of human nature, whether they move me to cry or make me laugh out loud.’
