Palladium : on 4.7.11 traditional fragrance brand 4711 launches the 4711 NOUVEAU Cologne campaign with an impressive spot - watch it here on GoSee
The new 4711 NOUVEAU Cologne fragrance from Mäurer & Wirtz is launching on the perfect date – 04.07.2011. The spot is now being aired on TV and in cinemas. Director Matthias Zentner and DOP Stefan von BORBERLY c/o 1st UNIT as well underwater camera operator Didier Noirot, who has already worked with Jacques-Yves Cousteau, were responsible for the cool look and the unusual imagery.
A crew of 100 members worked on the project. The aerial photographs were made with help from the stunt team from Actionconcept and the underwater shoot took place at the Agrippabad in Cologne. For the first time ever, the Phantom FLEX was used to capture high-speed pictures underwater – filming 1,000 pictures per second. In front of the camera – an array of both swimming and flying models, stunt-women and synchronised swimmers – some of which are from the German Olympia team.
Plantage Berlin, responsible for creation, supervised traditional cologne brand 4711’s project, which – apart from the German market – is also active on the Japanese, Brazilian, Italian, French and Spanish markets.
According to Mäurer & Wirtz (Tabac Original, Nonchalance, Betty Barclay, Otto Kern), the aim of the campaign was to reposition the brand that was established in 1909. “It is time to make 4711 attractive to younger people once again”, explains brand manager Jessica Bönisch.
Since the end of 2006, 4711 belongs to Mäurer & Wirtz, headed by the Wirtz family in its fifth generation. CEO and associate partner Dr. Hermann Wirtz is the current head of the company.
On location, producers Knut Losen and Jacqueline Pöhnitzsch of Palladium were responsible for the excellent job. The making of is available for your viewing pleasure on the Palladium website – contact Anna Czarska for more information.
