PICTORION das Werk - invitation to Munich on 18 March, HD PRODUCTION WORKFLOW roadshow and trailer for the SAME SAME BUT DIFFERENT Berlinale film with David Kross
Das Werk are holding their first cocktail evening with finger food and cocktails on Thursday 18 March at 7pm, at their Munich branch. Socialising and networking will be on the menu, as well as admiring the new equipment and services on offer.
The evening also marks the opening of additional events – as they will also be taking their new ‘HD Production Workflow’ roadshow to Munich in April.
The following questions will be discussed at the roadshow: is HD the same as HD? What are the differences to SD? Which formats are there and how do I select the right one for my production? Interlaced or progressive? 1080i or 720p?
Is there already a television standard? What do I need to look out for during advertising film productions? Can SD material be changed to HD material? What changes are there in the workflow and the archive process? What challenges will the consumer face?
Additional dates are: 13.04. - Frankfurt // 14.04. - Berlin // 15.04. - Hamburg // 20.04. - Munich // 21.04. – Düsseldorf. RSVPs to events@das-werk.de.
Furthermore, we are also pleased to present the trailer for the SAME SAME BUT DIFFERENT spot by director Detlef Buck, here on GoSee.
The story in a few sentences: Ben (David Kross) meets Sreykeo at a club in Phnom Penh and they spend the night together. But the next morning the romance has evaporated – and reality hits hard: Sreykeo earns her pay as a bar girl, she depends on the money to feed herself and her family. Despite all obstacles, Ben decides to stay with Sreykeo in Cambodia. Ben experiences a world with strange and puzzling rules.
When he runs out of money, he has to return to Germany. He tries and fails to get on with life without Sreykeo. Then the shock hits him. She tells him that she is HIV positive. Ben realises that he wants to support Sreykeo, so he returns to Cambodia as quickly as possible.
Things prove harder than he had imagined – as it is almost impossible to get hold of effective medicine in the country. A time of challenges, misunderstandings and despair begins to take hold of his life. Finally, he has to make a decision, which could change his life forever…
Detlev Buck says: ‘Since going to film college, I have always wanted to make a film which doesn’t just touch upon the subject of love, but is entirely devoted to it. However, I never found the right love story. I can safely say that the true story of Benjamin Prüfer and Sreykeo is just what I have been looking for all this time.’
Behind the scenes! In addition to the trailer, GoSee also presents an interview with colourist Philipp Orgassa from Berlin, the man behind the 2k colour grading.
