Raf Simons' dark world for JIL SANDER - Thomas KLEMENTSSON spot takes us backstage at the JIL SANDER S/S 2012 show
The spring/summer 2012 collection will be one thing above all other things: dark. One might conclude that the collection has been inspired by the Nordic summer, more or less a winter with a touch of green, as Heine would have said. The impression is supported by the models' turbo-wet-look.
The collection somehow resembles a love-child between the Second World War and Techno – rough knitwear and distinctively short trousers. Finished off with eye-catching python skin bags.
Thomas KLEMENTSSON c/o CAMERALINK captures these fleeting visions – his tools of the trade are depth of focus, blurriness and reflections, all of which make us feel intoxicated, steering into a distance that seems to climax in the release of a fainting swoon.
