Telemaz : conquer Cannes, and various spots
TELEMAZ Commercials GmbH won in two categories at the 56th Cannes Lions Advertising Festival 2009. Having already won at last year’s Young Director Award in Cannes, this year their director Alexsander Bach came first in the “European Film School“ category. His “stars” spot for the International Red Cross was awarded. The TELEMAZ-produced commercial also won the judges’ special prize in the “Best Film” category.
The advertising film makers were also thrilled with their shortlist nominations. In the past few years, entries from Germany had hardly been covered in the shortlist. But at Cannes Lions 2009, two TELEMAZ spots made it into the pre-selections. The ads, titled “Schuhplattler“ (a type of Bavarian folk dance performed by male dancers) and “Technotronik“ were productions commissioned by Volkswagen.
