Artbox : ‘Auditori of Barcelona’ images for design studio Toormix, PLAYBOY SETI image, welcome KAMP HORST and KONICA MINOLTA printer in 3D

The ‘Auditori of Barcelona’ is one of the most acclaimed places for classical music recitals, and Barcelona-based design studio Toormix asked Serial Cut to establish a renewal in the communication. Therefore they have made 4 visuals; each visual is made of the 4 different areas of their programme for 2012 and 2013. The images are inspired by the music and architecture of the building.

The wooden box is made up of the motifs that can be found on the building itself. The forms that come out of the box consist of parts of instruments but are not yet complete, the viewer is invited to imagine the missing parts.

The challenge was – besides creating a visually attractive image – to also give the campaign an extra layer of depth by adding a strong concept. We like it a lot, great job Serial cut!

Do you believe in extra-terrestrial life?
The July edition of the Playboy USA features an article on SETI (the Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence). The article will cover an interview with a SETI researcher about the probability of extra-terrestrial life. Therefore Karol Lasia was asked to make an illustration based on the story and as always, it doesn’t fail to impress. The illustration is produced by using a combination of 3D, image manipulation and illustration. A good excuse to order your own edition of Playboy!

Say hello to KAMP HORST
What started out as Antistrot and later transformed to the temporary TAFKAA (The Artist Formerly Known As Antistrot) is now KAMP HORST. KAMP HORST is an art collective based in Rotterdam consisting of our own artists Johan Kleinjan and Silas Schletterer and the artists Gees Voorhees, Bruno Ferro Da Silva, Michiel Walrave and Paul Borchers. Amongst creating all kinds of amazing art wallpainting/live action painting is one of their specialities.

Rob de Wit for Konica Minolta
Brinkerink & Partner wanted to show the safety and environmental qualities of the printers of their client Konica Minolta. In order to do so Rob de Wit created the printers in 3D and later produced some small animations. There was no reference material of the machine so we had to rebuild the (complicated) printer based on photographs.
