Mars : Adrift on the Hourglass Sea - KAHN & SELESNICK exhibition at the Yancey Richardson Gallery and book release
If you’re looking for a very unusual and unique gift, you have come to the right place. Be it a print or a book.
The motifs on display at Yancey Richardson Gallery until 19 February tell the story of two fictional women stranded on planet Mars.
Kahn & Selesnick, alias Richard Selesnick and Nicholas Kahn, were both born in 1964 and have English passports. They both live in the United States, Nicholas lives somewhere upstate in a white church with a view of the Hudson River; Richard lives with his wife and dog in a Brooklyn townhouse.
Since 1988, both of them have worked on their complex and somewhat obsessive/addictive photo epics and place a lot of importance on not abusing a horde of underpaid assistants in the name of art – instead, they choose to rely on their own honest work.
The book is published by BLURB (their website includes a great preview of the beautiful yet entertaining story) and is priced at €90.
