Pamela Love NYC – the dark side of bling

Imagine being able to jump inside a dark fairytale book; you open the page where the two kids are about to stroll into the mysterious forest, spread the book out on the floor, take a deep breath and then hop right in, just like in Mary Poppins, where they jump into the chalk drawings on the pavement.

You come out at the other end, have to stretch your arms out in front of you and push overgrown branches out of the way. You are in a dimly lit forest, surrounded by strange creatures and an overwhelming sense of dark magic.

Pieces of jewellery made of precious metals begin to wrap themselves around your wrists, your neck and fingers. The stones they are adorned with, such as emeralds and rubies begin to sparkle in the little fragments of light the surrounding leafy trees let in.

You are entwined in Pamela Love’s jewellery designs. Surrounded by her motifs of bird claws and snakes.

Pamela Love born and based in NYC, studied film production at New York University, Tisch School of the Arts. After graduating, she worked as a painting assistant for artist Francesco Clemente and as an art director and stylist for photo shoots, music videos and films. Pamela often felt frustrated at not being able to find the accessories she wanted to use for her visual work and so decided to create her own pieces.

Other stylists and art directors clearly felt relieved at having found a source of dark dramatic jewellery and today her pieces are used in countless photos shoots, for magazines including Vogue, Qvest, GQ, Nylon and Purple.

GoSee presents her latest collections, which can also be purchased from her online store and are stocked by the world’s finest fashion boutiques and department stores – click here for a list.
