Anke Luckmann : Germany's PAYBACK campaign featuring football legend RUDI VÖLLER

The motifs are currently on display all over Germany – be it at the gas station, on the Internet, the billboard or just around the corner . . . football star a.D. Rudolf AKA Rudi Völler. We don't see him twice, or even three times – nope, he plays offence for the PAYBACK campaign no less than five times.

GoSee Member ANKE LUCKMANN took the campaign photographs in a studio in Hamburg, shortly before the shoot for the three PAYBACK online films started.

Why Rudi Völler? Simples - “There can only be one Rudi Völler!” - at least that is what the German football fans would not cease to chant during the World Cup 2002. Only one? No – five editions were booked by Payback to be part of their online campaign that promotes the benefits of the bonus program.

Völler, head coach of the German national football team from 2000 to 2004 and the current sports director of premier league club Bayer Leverkusen, is the perfect testimonial for Payback. No other player or coach had ever been honoured so thoroughly and in hindsight in stadium chants for his unique personality, explains the supervising agency.

When Rudi put his foot in the studio, on time at 9:30 in the morning, her greeted the whole team with a handshake. A first sip of coffee, a brief stint in the make-up room – and there he was, right in front of Anke's camera.

A handful of different perspectives and facial expressions were rehearsed – after all, the idea was to capture Rudi five times in total. 11Am, and Rudi was already en route to the next set – and Anke still managed to photograph a personal portrait.

Anke's statement on Rudi superstar: “Cool guy. I had a great time. There will still only be one Rudi Völler for me. Thanks Rudi!”
