Bernd Vogel : founds Platform online photo gallery and 'USA - The Finish Line' - exhibition in Cologne

Bernd Vogel is a founding member of the new Platform online photography gallery from Cologne, which features freelance photographs by established photographers and new talents. Through a meticulous handling and choice of works, Platform manage to distinguish themselves from the common picture mass market.

The online photography gallery offers all works as limited and signed editions. Besides artistic quality, a considerable focus is also placed on production and service quality.

The atmosphere is infused with a friendly sense of collaboration plus an acute exchange of ideas between photographers and the gallery team.

Bernd feels that the selection of themes is the most important aspect of Platform. Current trends of the photography scene, such as an amplified interest in picturesque photography, as well as fashion & beauty are particularly in focus and illuminated from various perspectives.

Bernd, who studied under Jürgen Klauke in Essen (amongst others), has been running his own studio in Cologne for ten years. He presents his freelance works on Platform.

The current exhibition at ‘Tausend Bar Cologne’ (Aachenerstr. 57) presents hand picked pictures from his ‘USA’ series until the 20th of March 2011.

Bernd shot the ‘USA - The Finish Line’ series on his journey along Route No.1 from Seattle to San Francisco by car. He was particularly interested in the Avenue of Giants and the area surrounding Death Valley. The results are pictures that depict the American Dream with a pinch of irony.
