Christa Klubert Photographers - GoSee in praise of animals
Isn’t it great that on top of the over 8 billion humans that inhabit the earth, a handful of animals still dwell on the planet too? And we’re not talking about their nutritional values; instead, we would like to draw attention to the stunning photography they often inspire.
Here is some information regarding the state of things: at the time of writing this article, approx. 8,87 billion humans live on this world. Men are in the majority with 4,5 billion. The largest nationalities are China (1,4 billion) followed by India (1,2 billion).
According to the Natural History Museum in Kassel, there are about: “4,630 mammals, 4,950 amphibians, 7,400 reptiles, 9,950 birds, 25,000 fish, 40,000 crustaceans, 70,000 molluscs, 75 arachnids, 290,000 other lower animals and more than 950,000 types of insects.
A very approximate count of all animals on our planet is one trillion (1018, A 1 with 18 Zeroes) animals and insects and other small life forms provide most of the numbers. The combined weight of plane earth’s animals totals 2,2 billion tons. The entire mass of all animals on this planet is 1,850 billion tons.”
