Emeis Deubel : HERMÈS double serving, new FSB motifs including making-of, SMART Brabus and 'Babel Tales' at the Luwigshafener Photo Festival
Stylist Sarah ILLENBERGER paid a lot of attention to detail when working with HERMÈS products on the legendary KDW department store’s shop windows in Berlin. The luxury brand has taken over all ten shop windows on Kurfürstendamm, to celebrate the opening of the new HERMÈS concession in the department store.
She created a playful HERMÈS parade, which has been making its way through the shop windows since the beginning of September and tempting shoppers to come inside. A new theme was selected for each window, making it a mammoth task, however the results go to show that it was more than worth it.
Set constructors Adrian Hermanides and Max Ganssmann supported Sarah.
German/Swiss photography duo METZ+RACINE was also busy working for HERMÈS. They present their lovely ‘Les bleus d'ailleurs’ tableware series, which was created with the help of stylist Gary Card, all in their very own unique style – still life brought to life.
The multi-award wining FSB campaign has had two new images added to it. This time the concept was a butterfly and a tree, which Sarah ILLENBERGER’s attention to detail brought to life, as you can see in the making-of. Attila HARTWIG photographed the elaborate production.
London-based BLINKK shot a people and car series for SMART. The people motifs were shot on various locations in Berlin, the cars were then photographed in the studio afterwards. Production Berlin headed the production, as well as the location scouting and casting.
‘Babel Tales’ marks both the beginning and end simultaneously. Peter FUNCH’s four year project on the streets of New York peaked in 41 monumental panoramas. The series has become central part of Peter’s artistic work.
‘Babel Tales’ focuses on the human relationships and interactions in metropolises. Peter explores human similarities and collective behaviour. He creates uncanny, poetic and detailed images of our presence as an individual and part of a community.
His works are documents of moments that never exist. They were created from thousands of images, which Peter captured over several weeks. He photographed exactly the same place, over an extended period of time. This enabled him to create a fictional piece of work, that is based on documentary photography.
Peter is exhibiting his complete ‘Babel Tales’ series as part of the photo festival at Ludwigshafener Kunstverein from 10.09. - 06.11.
