Gunda Patzke : Nora Tschirner is GQ's Woman of the Year, Patagonia's world of icebergs and glaciers, ENGELHORN sportswear, 'Decommissioned' exhibition in Zurich

We prefer blondes! The GQ woman of the year, Nora Tschirner adorned the cover and seven further pages in the magazine's December issue. The actress was photographed by Karel KUEHNE. His team comprised JANE Garber c/o BIGOUDI for production and styling, as well as hair and make-up artist Helge Branscheidt.

German edition GQ writes: “Our woman of the year had her hair dyed for a film role. We took the most beautiful pictures of her anyone has ever seen before the magic was done. At least. And yes, yes that is Nora Tschnirner by the way.”

Sebastian VAN DEN AKKER returned from his family trip to Patagonia with several landscape motifs. These were later published in a NIDO travel story. “To me, Patagonia is the most beautiful far end of the world. What I really like is the barren beauty of the landscapes and the unbelievable quiet that prevails in the area.”

The photographs were taken in the South of Patagonia, which is characterised by impressive glaciers and mountain ranges.

We are also delighted to present the highlights of the ENGELHORN production in Stockholm. Photographer Fredrik CLEMENT collaborated with Therese Stüssel of Serviceplan. Art buying by Katharina Hofmann. Styling by Petra Knoblauch.

Olaf DEHARDE’s work can now also be adored in moving pictures. The clip, which he produced together with model Isabel Probst at the Elbe, provides a preview.

In their first solo exhibition, Andreana SCANDERBEG and Alexander SAUER present photographs from the ‘Decommissioned’ series, taken on the 'Mojave Air and Space Port' in the Californian desert.

While SCANDERBEG SAUER show industries and their output from their most attractive side when it comes to commissioned work, her personal projects illuminate the flip side of global economy: decommissioned planes are the cenotaph of the over-dimensional world of aviation, of a limited oil deposit and an insatiable lust for more and cheaper travel.

The book ‘Decommissioned’, featuring 24 pictures accompanies the exhibition. Furthermore, SCANDERBEG SAUER and their photographs have been travelling around the globe since the 1st of November: SWISS magazine features a six-page editorial on their work.

Their exhibition can be seen until the 24th of December 2010 at Widmer+Theodoridis in Zurich. For further information on the ‘Decommissioned’ project, go to the new SCANDERBEG SAUER website.
