Karsten Thormaehlen : 10th anniversary anthology, PENNRICH printers calendar, BMW event at the Paris Autosalon and a portrait of celebrity chef Lafer portrait for LISA
Thormaehlen Photography / Studio 55 celebrate their 10 year anniversary. A three-volume collector's edition will be released in English to mark the occasion. No. 1: 'Architecture' features a selection of the photographer's work from the fields of architecture, fresh from the printers and designed by multi-award winning design agency 3st Kommunikation.
The two following issues will be concerned with the topics people / portraits and still life photography. Volume No. 1 is now taking orders by E-Mail.
Another publication in 2011 is a high quality art calendar by traditional publishing printers PENNRICH. The large format wall calendar is distinguished by high-class stills produced by Karsten Thormaehlen, the careful design of Fabian Bleisinger/Greenseven and over 160 years of experience in print.
It is entirely dedicated to the 'Black Art' – a synonym for the printing craft since Gutenberg. Click here to order.
Several portraits of enthusiastic visitors, expressing their excitement of being in front of the camera and the new BMX X3 model with customised traffic signs, were produced on the Parisian Autosalon 2010 under the motto of: 'Joie n’as pas de limite – Joy knows no limits'
The photo station proved so popular, it had to be temporarily closed off. Many more pictures are available on the group page 'BMW Paris 2010' on Facebook.
Karsten Thormaehlen visited the Lafer couple and photographed a multi-part series on their beautiful Stromburg castle for the winter issue of Burda’s LISA magazine. Sylvia and Johann Lafer designed, decorated and cooked a gourmet Christmas menu in the Val d’Or Michelin star restaurant, and relocated the crew to the castle's herb garden for the portrait shoot.
