Kelly Kellerhoff : newcomer Jan HERBOLSHEIMER, people and still-life photographer

Frankfurt-based photographer Jan HERBOLSHEIMER has now joined the agency. The youngest addition to the Kelly Kellerhoff portfolio, he learnt visual language and lighting techniques from scratch during his art studies and cameraman apprenticeship.

Jan likes to work with stark contrasts, opulent light and bright colours. Hard sources of light, from flash to artificial lighting are his favourite styles – he is a big fan of wide angles, and dynamic stills and people shots.

In his work, backgrounds and interiors are usually elaborately lit in great detail, none of his picture compositions are “easily” achieved. He sees photography as an opportunity to compose images, as if they were to be sketched or painted. This year’s UPdate Presence Library lives and works in Frankfurt am Main.

His clients include CONVERSE, WEGO, HONDA, UNILEVER, MERCEDES, NOKIA, TETESEPT, KRUPS, ZURICH, WICK BLAU, PANASONIC, ROWENTA, and many more. He has already won Gold at the Comprix for COLGATE and was distinguished with the BEST NEW 18/1 AWARD 2009.
