Brückner Fischer : Dieter MAYR photographs surgical Professor Lüths for MANAGER MAGAZINE and the opening of the Dornier Museum

Dieter MAYR was once again on the road for a variety of editors. He photographed a story titled “Best Buddies” for the SPIEGEL magazine and portrayed Prof. Lüth and his team of researchers for MANAGER MAGAZINE.

Professor Lüth's most famous patented invention is the surgery robot, whose nickname is “Otto on the ceiling”, who is primarily deployed for face, jaw, dental and neurosurgery. The robot, which is fitted to the ceiling, resembles a giant metal spider, combining a three dimensional computer-controlled positioning system with a precise surgical drill.

Furthermore, Dieter documented the opening of the Dornier museum in Friedrichshafen. What started out in 1910 with Claude Dornier constructing the Zeppelin, developed into one of the world's leading companies of air and space travel.

Today, Dornier stands for innovation in the most varied of research fields. From the first large seaplane and countless records in aviation, to ground breaking surveillance techniques and scientific research satellites, as well as important inventions in medical and environmental technology.

The exhibition space “Fascination Flight” shows historic air-planes. “Departure to Space” presents parts of an original “Spacelab” as well as a walkable solar system.
