Something isn’t right with this zebra. However, most observers take a while for it go to go *click*: the stripes are the wrong way round. It may look like a fun trick, but it was a challenging assignment for Ulrich HOPPE. First of all, he photographed a Zebra at the circus – his only chance to capture the shy animal on camera. Then he photographed a white horse in the same perspective, this provided the foundation for the fur. Finally, the zebra was dressed in the white horse’s skin, dyed black and white using CGI and the placed in a landscape created by Christian SCHMIDT.

In addition to this motif, two further images were realized for the ROWOHLT VERLAG publishers, including the Statue of Liberty, which was photographed on a 34 degree day in New York. The book is a dummy, which was added on later in the studio. Hubertus Hamm of the Pepperzak agency supervised the shoot. The zebra’s post production was carried out by ALPHADOG, Hamburg.

Amsterdam-based photographer Oscar van de BEEK, realized five new motifs for Japanese car manufacturer MITSUBISHI’s after sales brochure. The production featured the Colt CZT Sport. The client was Automotive Systems B.V., with art director Niels Evers and creative director Henny Jansen representing the Lukkien agency.

Verena KNEMEYER has found him – the new and improved future man. Her discovery was aided by a Springer und Jacoby team and together they offered their answer to the age old question of *when is a man a man?*. Verena photographed the five discoverers (Malte Lenze, Nadia Mury, Daniel Walloch, Michael Wuerges and Dorothee Rein) for MAX magazine.

In addition to this, Verena was also busy shooting male celebrities towards the end of the year. She was assigned by the Axel Springer-Verlag to photograph various stars. These included impressive portraits of German faves raper SIDO, boy band star Izzy Gallegos (US 5), Juri Schewe (of Nevada Tan, the German version of Linkin Park) and Jörn Schlönvoigt (TV soap star).
