Esther Haase : brand new book Rock'n'Old, current ESPRIT campaign

The photographer presents Rock 'n' Old, a new photo book published by Kehrer Verlag. She will be holding a book signing session in cooperation with her Camerawork Gallery on Saturday, 12 December, from 3pm to 5pm, at the Quartier 206 department store, Berlin. The book presents 128 pages of photos of the elderly, who pose for the photographer’s camera bursting with esprit, effervescence and vitality.

Ether Haase has been taking photographs for the annual Jahnke ambulance station calendar for 14 years. The calendar has become a highly coveted collectors item thanks to the help of celebrities including Iris Berben, Sonja Kirchberger and Hannelore Hoger.

The shots of visual worlds, which Vivienne Westwood’s master class, amongst others, created design for, are full of lightness and lust for life. Those that have experience Esther on set before will be familiar with her energy, which quickly spreads and affects the whole team. Thus, it comes as no surprise to see her elderly models strike youthful, radiant poses.

For the realisation of the latest calendar, the photographer helped herself to even more extravagant outfits, backgrounds and dance elements, which are a signature style of her photographs.

On the commercial side of things, Esther was once again busy as a bee for ESPRIT. The latest campaign motifs were realised by the happy go lucky photographer.
