Shotview : Boyfriend Collection by LEVI’S, SCHÖN MAGAZIN, Just can’t sleep - stylist ALEX Aikiu launches singing debut, SPEX, ZEIT MAGAZINE, RONDO & QUALITY MAG
Sesse LIND was once again commissioned as a specialist for denim and young fashion photography. His ability to communicate spontaneity and to produce a sense of movement and fun paid off for LEVI’S: the Boyfriend Collection – a series of clothes for girls, that look as if they were stolen from their boyfriend’s wardrobes (only better tailored to fit the female form) – is captured in an unbeatably cool, provocative style.
Fashion stylist ALEX Aikiu creates the best looks for magazines such as HARPER’S BAZAAR and V MAG and has spent many years successfully collaborating with photographers including Jean-Paul Goude. He now plans to make his mark on the music business!
‘The Aikiu’ was realised as a collaboration between Alex and his friends Julien Vichnievsky and Cedric Pilooski and has already been met with much acclaim. Disco legend Nile Rodgers called him ‘Madonna with a dick … but with the voice of Simon le Bon’. The first 12” was released in mid June and features disco pop hit ‘Just can’t sleep’. A video is in the pipelines and additional releases are scheduled for October. We congratulate Alex and are looking forward to the shiny results.
Two Shotview artists worked on a fully developed collaboration, titled ‘Secession’ for SCHÖN MAGAZINE, London. CHRISTINA KRUSE styled by Martina Riebeck and photographed by Joachim BALDAUF interpreted the term with a distinct casualness, making the viewer look twice to discover the actual seriousness and depth of the editorial.
SPEX asked Joachim Baldauf to photograph an array of Germany’s most promising acting talents, who are currently working on various film and theatre productions. The shoot was realised in the ballet hall at Berlin’s Friedrichstadtpalast and captures the actors going about their usual warm-up exercises. Joachim’s signature work approach documents the impressive scale of their thespian expressions.
ZEIT MAGAZINE commissioned Joachim to shoot a dolly jewellery editorial for their doll-themed special. The almost entirely black and white series presents a photo whodunit, starring the fabulous ‘Hans Wurst Nachfahren’ Berlin puppet theatre ensemble. Anett Steinbrecher and Gisbert L. Brunner carried out the styling.
Renowned auction and exhibition house Phillips de Pury booked Peter RIGAUD to shoot two personalities for their self-titled publication. Turin-based collector Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo was photographed in her house, as well as at her foundation’s palazzo, with pieces from her collection, as well as at work with young curators and other art industry professionals.
The second story features promising furniture designer/artist Martino Gamper. Peter photographed the charming furniture virtuoso in Vienna amongst the pre-loved objects he uses to craft his recycling creations: a pile of old furniture.
The last issue of QUALITY MAGAZINE includes a portfolio series comprising a selection of Peter Rigaud’s best portrait work. “The Vienna and Berlin-based photographer carefully captures the life stories of the faces in front of his lens, uncovers and underlines their characters, and by doing so creates deep portraits.” – We have nothing more to add!
Peter was commissioned by RONDO MAGAZINE to photograph Heinz Reitbauer of the Steiereck restaurant, London. Reitbauer, who is considered the best chef in Austria, explains why vegetables are now the centre of his kitchen and how his meat-loving countrymen react to this – Peter fittingly photographed him chilling out on a bed made of vegetables and salads.
Who could forget the last cover of DEUTSCH VOGUE: Claudia Schiffer, naked and pregnant. A complete issue devoted to the eternal star of the German model sky. During preparations for the issue, Ms Schiffer also asked for several works on herself by a small selection of creatives to be featured. Naturally, the list also had to include Erwin Wurm. As with the series for last November’s issue of Vogue, ‘CLAUDIAS CHIFFER’ also presents Erwin Wurm’s charm – especially when he comes into contact with such extraordinary characters.
FHM COLLECTIONS – the biannual fashion issue that caters for men’s magazine FHM’s readership – booked menswear editorial specialist Markus PRITZI to shoot a mystic spread titled ‘the Demon of the Night’.
Ute Ploier’s career began to make big steps after she won the Best Menswear Designer award at the 2003 ‘Festival international de la mode & de la photographie’. We are pleased to present a preview of her S/S 2011 ‘Nightswimmer’ campaign. Jork WEISMANN was the photographer of choice.
