Claudia Bitzer : Guardian angel for VCI, MINI COOPER in Estoril
The sun shined for Oscar van de BEEK on his last production in Holland. In the middle of several days of extremely inferior weather, a half-hour break in the clouds appeared on the day of the shoot just for him which was just long enough to shoot the guardian angel motif of the image campaign for client VCI (the German Chemical Industry Association.) Supervising agency was Ogilvy & Mather Frankfurt with art buyer Christina Hufgard and art director Georg Fischböck. The ads can be seen in publications including Spiegel, Focus, Stern, Geo, FAZ, German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung as well of course on the internet. Peer BRECHT had to bend the law to help on his shoot for MINI on the racing track in Estoril. After the complete circuit was closed off and the team stood ready, all that was left to come was the star of the show: the MINI COOPER S. After a phone call to the driver of the trailer it was discovered that the trailer was stuck in Lisbon with a dead battery and they were waiting for a mechanic to come. After one hour they could set off but then on the motorway the driver suddenly noticed a fire. He was able to extinguish it just in time, but the journey was definitely over. So there was just one possibility remaining for Peer: He got behind the steering wheel of the Mini himself and drove it the last 40 kilometres without the correct documents on the motorway to Estoril. The risk paid off with some great shots, which we have to show you here. We also have some eye candy from Tom MENZ. Here's his last freelance production.
